PAINT PROTECTION FILM
Paint Protection Film, also referred to as clear bra or clear mask, is a transparent Urethane film designed to shield your factory paint from road debris. PPF offers approximately 90% effectiveness in its protective capacity and should be regarded accordingly. While it offers robust defense, it's important to note that fast-moving sharp objects can still create small rips or even breach the factory finish.
At Elite Installs, we exclusively employ Xpel Ultimate Plus, a PPF with a self-healing top coat. This self-healing characteristic targets normal wash marring like swirl marks, within the top 0.5 mil top coat. Deeper scratches, beyond 0.5 mil, may not self-heal. It's worth mentioning that self-healing films can accumulate swirl marks over time from touched car washes, hence we recommend hand washing or touch-free alternatives.
Exercise caution with car washes and PPF, as high-pressure washes might lift or bubble the edges, which isn't covered by warranty. When hand washing with a home power washer, always maintain a distance of more than 1ft to prevent the high-pressure water from cutting through the film.
